ASSET INTEGRITY MANAGEMENT

A thorough understanding on how plants operate as well as equipment failure modes are part of the unique services BNL offers.
BNL provides clients with specific programs and technically competent professionals for the development, training and implementation of Asset Integrity Management Programs.
BNL provides research and consulting services to industry with emphasis on pipeline, tanks, pressure piping, pressure vessels, furnaces, heat exchangers and power generation equipment. BNL is devoted to helping industry reduce its repair costs and downtime losses.
The Asset Integrity Management Program can help clients in areas such as:

  1. Corrosion and erosion control.
  2. Defect assessment.
  3. Engineering critical assessment (ECA)
  4. High temperature erosion and corrosion of alloys.
  5. Thermal spray coatings.
  6. Evaluation of corrosion inhibitors.
  7. Failure analysis.
  8. Fatigue.
  9. Hydrogen-induced cracking.
  10. Welding and repair methods.
  11. Stress analysis.
  12. Measurement of mechanical properties.
  13. Destructive examination.
  14. Corrosivity assessment.
  15. Stress corrosion cracking studies.
  16. Weld metal and heat-affected zone microstructure and properties.
  17. Refractory inspection.
  18. Advanced NDE.

BNL develops and implements Asset Integrity Management programs which provide the necessary regulatory requirements for the inspection of in-service pressure equipment including repairs and alterations. Asset Integrity Management Programs provide methods to properly manage risk and ensure inspection activities occur systematically, and are appropriately documented.
Some of our specific capabilities include:

  1. Evaluating hydrogen-induced cracking using ring validation tests and H2S saturated solutions.
  2. Lifetime prediction of engineered structures.
  3. Numerical modelling (finite and boundary element methods) for stress analysis and fracture mechanics.
  4. Studies of aqueous and non-aqueous corrosion, including high temperature, high pressure autoclave experiments.
  5. Engineering field repairs and alterations of pressure equipment.
  6. Modelling analysis for corrosion prevention.
  7. Designed of on-line corrosion monitoring systems.
  8. Storage tank integrity assessment.
